We rely on volunteers to make Robomaster San Diego work, and they are an integral part of helping us put on the competition. We are looking for volunteers of all ages and experience levels ato help in a variety of roles. Shifts will range from half a day to a full day, depending on the position, so keep reading to learn more.
All volunteers will receive training. Our on-site training will occur on Monday, June 23rd, at the event.
Inspection volunteers will receive on-site training. Additional preference will be given to non-team members.
Competition Flow volunteers will receive on-site training.
Volunteers will receive free lunch each day
Here are the positions we're looking to fill, along with descriptions of what each role does.
Robot Inspector: Inspectors fill out a paper sheet throughout each inspection station to make sure robots comply with the physical, electrical, and software requirements.
Inspection Bookkeeper: Keeps track of inspection status, final station in inspection.
Rotation Referee: Rotates between field referee, drivers' room referee, and staging referee
Staging Referee: Watches teams that are staged for their next match
Field Reset: Sweeps projectiles, checks the quality of the field, and generally helps around the arena
Projectile Return: Collects projectiles after matches from both 3v3 and 1v1
Staging Chaperone: Escorts teams from inspection to the staging area
Queue Runner: Escorts teams from inspection to the staging area & reminds teams in the pit to get inspected
